FedEx driver killed while making a delivery in Woodbridge
WOODBRIDGE — A 43-year-old FedEx driver was killed this morning while making a delivery in Woodbridge when he was struck by a passing car, authorities said.
William Convery III, 43, of South Bound Brook, had parked his truck on Fairview Avenue in Colonia and was standing behind it when he was struck by a 2005 Dodge Caravan just after 9:30 a.m., authorities said.
Convery was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:09 a.m., authorities said.
The driver of the Dodge, whose name is being withheld, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with an undisclosed injury, authorities said. He was listed in critical condition.
No charges have been filed but the investigation is continuing, authorities said.
