Ernest A. Haase, 80, passed away on April 13, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 13, 1931, in Closter, NJ and is a graduate of Closter High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Rutgers University in 1953, and a Master's Degree from Colorado State College of Education. He served in the US Army and was a Korean War veteran. He retired in 1993, after teaching at Bound Brook High School for 33 years.
He was predeceased by his sister, Delores Keenan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen L. Haase; three children, Connie McKeon of Annandale, Virginia, Bret of Bedminster, and Craig of Martinsville, and five granddaughters, Jennifer, Nichole, Melinda, Emily and Megan. He is also survived by his brother, Louis and sister, Marge Kerber.
Services will be private. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 No. Gaston Ave., Somerville. So sorry to hear this, Mr. Haase was my geometry teacher way back when. God Bless him for his infinite patience with me, I HATED geometry, but adored him! He used to call us his "meatballs".
