Mike Colalillo - RIP

Mikey "Dumbo" or whatever.

Was it the ears?  Or something else?

He was at every fire I ever fought in BB - he was a member of Ivys - till they closed it.  I remember the Christmas parties as a kid.  My father was a member for years.

Remember his Christmas tree lot?

He lived at the opposite end of Codrington Place from us.

He was the classic hometown fixture and character.

RIP Big Mike.....

missinglaskobirchbeer,

You got it wrong they nicked named Big Mike (Mikey Dumbell) not Mikey Dumbo. Never knew why being Mikey was not dumb in the least. He was a hustler. Knew how to make a buck thats for sure. Everytime you spoke to him he was trying to sell you something. He was very good friends with my parents. Always stopped by during the Holidays I remember or for different things having to do with the Deborah Hospital.  Always gave me the evil eye as a kid when he was ushering at St.Joes Auditorium for Sunday Masses done there when I would walk in late in my younger years. Back in the day for those that remember St.Joseph's was in the process of building their new church where the Convent once stood on Mountain Ave. St.Joe's out grew their original church across from the Post Office in BB so Masses had to be held in the School Auditorium.  Just realized this was actually something not mentioned about in the Yesterdays Bound Brook As You Remember section of the forum.

Mikes Obituary is now listed in the Former BB Residents & Friends Remembered section of this forum for those who would like to read about Mike C.
