It is Linden Ave. I bought this photo on ebay - it is taken directly in front of my family's old home and I really think the people near the car are members of my family.

Maybe even my father.
Remarkable, eh?
That sure is Linden Ave. I know that for a fact as I lived in that neighborhood. Wow! I probably know Laskobirch.

All those "Spoon" pictures of BB - a guy - Mike Boyar - very strange. But if he hadn't taken those pictures we have no published nostalgia.
He used to come into the BB Post Office every day.
Wonder what ever happened to him?
There was another great character - "Braschiole" like the meat - he picked up the mail for Union Carbide every day - he was a Marripodi - brother of the Postmaster.
There was a bunch of great guys working there - Joe Flis - Howard Dowdy - Mike Zolandz - Chet Zarnowski - Felix Gleason (see him watching Union Ave from his front porch occasionally) - Chet Yarka - the "Ritchie Brothers" - wow - that is at least 35 years ago.
I knew Howard and Felix. Howard was a neighbor of mine while living in BB and Felix I went to BBHS with. Maybe a year or so ahead of me. Does anyone know if Felix is still around? The last I remember Felix was ill. Howard passed away quite a while ago. I would say maybe 10 years ago or so.

ARE WE TALKING ABOUT FELIX THE CAT POSTMAN? IF ITS THAT FELIX I BELIEVE HE PASTED AWAY
I know Felix was ill. But I haven't heard for sure about his demise. I am sure I would have read or heard something.
There was one notorious PO employee. A letter carrier named Howard Schmock. He was imprisoned on some child abuse thing.
I remember Chester Niemczk. He delivered mail on Carrier Route 2 - the part of Bridgewater north of Shepherd Avenue. He was the most dedicated, perfect letter carrier ever. And he passed away very shortly after he retired.
All of these guys were WW2 vets. The stories during coffee breaks were remarkable. Gino Biago - a window clerk - drove a tank for Patton. Vitus Yanosh was in the Navy.
I can see them all working. It is a dark early morning. Cold. It was "Chronicle" day - Thursday so it doubled their load - but they all were laughing and busting chops without a care in the world.
Just to clarify ----Felix Gleason [Felix the Cat] Post Office Letter Carrier is still alive [07/05/10] and still living in his parents home across from the High School.
He did however suffer a stoke shortly after his retirment 5 yrs ago. I speak to him often via the telephone as I live in Phx, AZ.
Felix can not get around due to his stroke and his sister is his caregiver now.
I know Felix would love to have a visit from anyone that remembers him from High School or the Post Office.
