GTO/GN I see what you mean. The more I watch this kind of stuff the more I feel I should still be into it even at my age. Heck I only have a year on you if I am not mistaken and you are still doing it but then again you never quit. Got to give you credit for sticking with it. biggrin

No such thing as " even at my age"... There is plenty of guys out there older than us.. Its all about having fun. You only go around once, do whatever it is you have fun doing..You don't have to spend a ton of money, you can have a ball running a 13 or 14 second car. Just be safe.. You still have the Monte Carlo? I'm sure you have a big block around somewhere.
Monte + big block + power glide + 8.5 rear/4.10 gears + Mickey Thompson drag radials = 12 second passes all day long and it will never break...lol

GTO/GN, To tell you the truth I am not into turning wrenches as much as I use to be. After building my Street Rod all I do now is try to keep up with my Classic Cars and their maintance. Its enough for me to do at my age on top of everything else in my life. Sometimes I wonder where I found the time to do some of the things I have done in the past. Maybe I am spending to much time on the computer anymore. Other then that I am content with taking one of my Classic Cars out just for a ride on occasion. I haven't even gone to any Car Shows this year and only stopped in at one Cruise Night so far this Summer. Have to be honest with you they pretty much bore me anymore. I rather be driving my cars then just sitting around at these events.

I still turn all the wrenches on the Buick and the GTO.. The GTO doesn't ever need anything we just drive it and like you said enjoy it.. The Buick is another story, but I love working on it. Heck last year in Bowling Green KY. I blew the posi unit. I ordered the parts from Summit, had them overnight them to my hotel, the parts got to the hotel by 10:30 the next morning (gotta love Fed Ex) pulled the rear apart at the track that morning and had the car on the track by 3:00 that afternoon.. Heck I just changed the torque convertor here at the house on my back and it only took about 2 hours..
Working on it now, making some changes for the race coming up Nov. 6,7 & 8th in Reynolds GA.
Boy, if I had your garage and set up, no telling what I'd be building...lol
probably another Pontiac race car, I do miss racing a Pontiac..

GTO/GN

I really admire you for staying active with your cars. I guess when we get older and quit working on them on a regular basis we get lazy. I think if I had someone to work with I could get interested again. Stone and myself used to work together when I was in NJ but down here in Virginia I haven't made a lot of Friends. Stone does have the ideal set up in his backyard. He is "The Man" Have a Great Day.    Dixie
