As bad as Sen. Menendez is, your calls could slow him down on amnesty meeting
DEAR NEW JERSEY VOTERS,
It appears that Sen. Menendez (D-NJ) will be in the bi-partisan group meeting Thursday at the White House to "jump-start" plans to pass a giant amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens.
Please give his staff a call today or tomorrow and express your reasons why Mr. Menendez would betray New Jersey voters if he advises Pres. Obama to seek an amnesty and increased immigration.
202-224-3121
Or call these numbers:
Washington, DC ph: 202-224-4744 adr: 502 Hart, Washington, DC 20510
Newark, NJ ph: 973-645-3030 adr: One Gateway Center, Newark, NJ 07102
I know that you in New Jersey are discouraged because your Senators are so uniformly andconsistently bad on immigration. Many of you just feel it is a waste of time to contact Menendez.
But Sen. Menendez is allowed to think he can be the Senator for Latin America instead of the Senator for New Jersey because people have given up on him.
Please overwhelm his offices with phone calls today.
Be as irate as you like about the fact that Sen. Menendez is the most vigorous champion of foreign workers in the Senate. He always favors foreign workers over American workers (of all ethnicities).
It is not inevitable that New Jersey voters will always support a Senator who puts ethnic special interests above the public interest. You can make him think about that right now by phoning his office.
I'm calling about Sen. Menendez' attendance at the White House amnesty meeting on Thursday. I oppose giving work permits and citizenship to illegal foreign workers -- especially while 14 million Americans are unemployed.
New Jersey has a terrible jobs depression. You will be the only representative at the White House who is from New Jersey. Please stand against all attempts to help illegal foreign workers get jobs while so many New Jersey citizens can't find one.
Unemployment for Hispanic Americans is through the roof. For example, 21% of Hispanic-American natives without a high school degree are officially unemployed. And 31% of teens (aged 16-17) who are seeking a job can't find one.
The situation is just as bad for Black Americans. Official unemployment for young Black adults (aged 18-29) with no more than a high school degree is 26%. It would be an outrage to give legal work permits to illegal foreign workers when one of every four young black adults in the country wanting a job can't find one.
The disproportionately unemployed Hispanic and Black Americans without college are looking for jobs in precisely the occupations where most of the 7 million non-agricultural illegal aliens hold jobs.
Immigration reform should be about kicking illegal aliens out of their jobs and opening up those jobs for unemployed New Jersey citizens.
The most pro-New Jersey, pro-Hispanic and pro-Black actions Pres. Obama can take are:
(1) Mandate all employers to use E-Verify and open up illegal aliens' jobs to unemployed Americans.
(2) Reduce the number of permanent green cards given out to foreign workers and dependents each year.
14 million Americans are looking for a job and can't find one. Don't stab them in the back by giving work permits to 7 million illegal aliens who are estimated to hold non-agricultural jobs in manufacturing, service and construction.
What the country needs more than anything is LESS IMMIGRATION.
THANKS FOR PHONING NOW,
