Favorite Movies

Watched a movie on Sunday that I remember seeing in the Brook Theater. It was called " Experiment in Terror" it was made in 1958. That would have only been 6. So I must have seen it as a second feature... But this got me thinking, about movies in general.. And watching Turner Classic Movies, they are saying 1939 was the best year for American Movies.. So I googled it.. And sure enough it was..
For example;
GONE WITH THE WIND    In my opinion the best movie ever
MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON / /JAMES STEWART
OF MICE AND MEN / BURGESS MEREDITH AND LON CHANEY JR
THE ROARING TWENTIES / JAMES CAGNEY AND HUMPHREY BOGART
STAGECOACH / JOHN WAYNE
THE WIZARD OF OZ
YOUNG MR. LINCOLN / HENRY FONDA
THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME / CHARLES LAUGHTON AND MAUREEN O'HARA  this was the best verson of this flim ever made..
Again in my opinion..The group of actors and actress in the films above were the best of the best and will never be matched..
Not made in 1939 but on my list of best movies ever made
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS / CHARLTON HESTON AND YUL BRYNNER  both at their best in this one..
THE SEACHERS / JOHN WAYNE in my opinion his best western and movie role.
THE USUAL SUSPECTS
THE GRAPES OF WRATH
CITIZEN KANE

Who else has a list for favorite movies?

The Godfather was my favorite of all time but plenty of movies were great movies back in their time such as The Ten Commandments w/Charlton Heston as mentioned above. As a kid I will never forget the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I didn't see it in the movies as a kid but remember it well as it was shown on the million dollar movie on TV a number of times. Scared the heck out of me. I was afraid to go to sleep at night after seeing that movie no matter how many times I watched it I remember as a kid. What was the hunchbacks name? Quasie Moto or something of that nature.
