Yes, I do remember Updykes, when I worked at Lockheed Electronics in North Plainfield, we'd go there for lunch, maybe once every other week. Is it still there?
That was Opdyke's. Last owned by the Saloukas family. They had a killer fried clam plate. My first job when I was in high school was at Fabric Land across 22, and once in a while I'd treat myself to dinner at Opdyke's.
