Any one remember Brach's soda counter and store on Main Street. I think it was in the middle of town on the left hand side of the street. We use to go there after playing basketball for St. Joe's. Funny but I got my first kiss in there.
First kiss, what the heck did they serve there, LOL. I remember the name but I think I was in there only once. I remember that I liked the set up of the store and I think the food that I had was good
It was a part of our "hitting the town" in my early teens. The Crescent Dr gang would ride our bikes to down town, park them around back at Otto Williams.. They would watch our bikes for us... Then we would walk one end of Main St to the other stopping in a bunch of stores and the train station. When we would start to head back to get the bikes we would stop there for ice cream sundays... This was just a part ofa normal summer day... Those were GOOD TIMES...

For those not in the know because it may of been before their time the former Brachs's took over the former Zannelli's Ice Cream Parlor. There was a Zannelli's thread already started on Page 5 of the "Yesterdays Bound Brook As you Remember It" section of the forum that I just bumped up to the top for all to see.

Don't know if you remember how old time it was inside. The counter, the old fashion ceiling fans, and most of all (in my opinion) behind the counter running its full length was the original old freezer that at one time used ice to keep stuff cold.
I remember in the late 1960's my grandmother would take me for a hair cut and then we would head to Brach's for ice cream. It made getting a haircut really enjoyable. We need places like that again.........Now in Fort Lauderdale, Fl
