Reading Zachs thread about the Chinese laundry on Maiden lane reminded me of the PSE&G building right next door next to the alley way or right across the street from the Lyric Theatre and right next door to the Bound Brook Cronicle.

Yes, I do remember the PSE&G, Stone. I would go there with my Grandmother to pay the bill. I don't remember the Chronicle being on Maiden Lane, wasn't it on Mountain Ave, near the Post Office?

Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but I could of swore I remember seeing it located on Maiden Lane at one time but who knows I was a kid back then and I could be wrong with my info here on the BB Cronicle.

PSE&G building was cool. Used to ride my bike through the alley way starting on Church St., cross John St, Mountain Ave. and on through to Maiden Lane. You got to see the back of all the businesses the whole way. They kept the PSE&G trucks and cars in the lot behind the building. I remember going in to pay our electric bill with my grandmother. She insisted on paying all bills in person whether it be electric, phone etc.
Now that you mention the cars and trucks being parked behind the building, I remember a smaller PSE&G building up on East High St. about a block west of the library. I don't know if the one on Maiden Lane relocated up there or if it was an additional location but I can remember the cars and trucks being parked behind that building. Is that the one you're thinking of?
