Wasn't there a hardware store on Main st called Santomen's (spelling)? I was thinking back to my high school days and remember a girl, Shirley, who's Father own a hardware store"downtown". Anyone remember the store or am I having a senior moment?
You are correct Zach. Actually it was called Santomens. I will correct your spelling for you. The store was right across the Main Street from Loree's Drug Store. Before there was a Home Depot this was your best shot in town back in the day to getting the hardware you needed to complete your small job in the area.

I remember Santomans. Down here in Virginia we still have a small local hardware store in town. I try to give them my business rather then the Home Depot if I can. It is Family owned and they are Old School to help you with any household problem. It has to be hard for them to compete so I don't mind spending the extra couple of bucks for their service and knowledge. Hats off to the "Little Guy" Dixie
