The Brass Rail

I'm sure many of you remember The Brass Rail on Talmage. Any memories to post?
If I recall correctly, the owners were Joe and Larry back then.
I remember my Uncle took me there for the first time when I was about 15 or 16 ( no, they didn't serve me, just drank Coke) to watch the Packers play the Giants in the NFL Championship game. I think the game was blacked-out but The Brass Rail somehow got some kind of deal or hookup and was able to get it on their TV. The place was packed. Giants lost.
Great sandwiches!

It's a tough call who had the best sandwich, the Rail or Jimmy Paulinos just down the street. The rail had them thick sandwichs you could hardly open your mouth big enough to bite. At Jimmies place each day he had some thing different fresh cooked. One day it would be his homemade sausage cooking on the grill with fresh peppers and onions next to them; the next day a fresh pork loin or roast beef sliced hot with the juices put on fresh bread from the sanitary bakery next door. Man, it didn't get any better than that. Hard pressed to find places like that anymore.

Indy, I decided to merge this new Brass Rail thread into the old Brass Rail thread started back in July of 2008 by STS BB Forum Member Zach. I think you will see you asked the same question there in that thread about the Brass Rails Pro Pie. I spoke to Tommy Diamente quite awhile back when you were looking for this info on another forum and he seemed to remember how it was made. If you know Tom or know someone who does you might find the info you need to duplicate the recipe. Let us know how you made out if you make contact. Maybe others here would want to give the recipe a try also. hungry.gif
