Has anyone on the forum been to the South Brook recently? Just curious as it was a cool place to hang out at on weekend nights. Its been many many moons ago for me since I have been there. I am sure others may weigh in on this one. I am sure many here have a story or two they can tell us of their experience there from years ago.

I ran into George Runyon not very long ago right outside of the Old South Brook. From what he tells me he is still bartending there. I am really surprised no one answered this thread. I know a few on this forum who use to frequent the place back in the day.

WOW - this was my home away from home --- even walked there when there was a blizzard --- Many many stories (which I won't tell) happened at this place. However, I must say, they were some of the best times I have ever had.
It's been sold several times, including recently. Now called Southside Grill. Good food. Not a "shot & beer joint" anymore.
Since this last post quoted above back in December of 2008 I understand the old South Brook sold once again. Actually when it was named The Southside Grill as the poster mentioned that was done when it was purchased quite awhile ago from previous owner Bobby Konz from what I remember. I hear that the owner of the paper store to the left of the SBB Police Station by the name of Jimmy is one of the owners now. Maybe someone else may have more info to share here.
