Pet Store??

I remember going to Lou's Sub shop then stopping by the Pet store to watch the monkey in the window do all kinds of nasty stuff.  What was the name of the pet store??

I am not a 100% sure but I think that Pet Shops name was B&O or something of that nature. I remember bringing home plenty of pet baby chicks and ducklings from that pet shop not to name the fish, turtles and hamsters I had from the same shop as a kid. I remember one Easter they even had baby Turkeys in the front display window. Back then you could have these type of animals as pets in your back yard in Bound Brook. I hear not very long ago a few Illegals have been caught with Chickens in the back yard. biggrin

I too remember the pet store.  It was a regular stop on the way to town before I was allowed to have 4 wheels.  General routine was to stop at Otto Williams to drool at new bicycles then on to the pet store to look at the tropical fish and maybe bring home one of those little turtles that you placed in the plastic bowl with the fake palm tree in it.  After about two weeks, you usually found the poor turtle belly up.  Same thing with goldfish.  Next stop Loree's drug store then onto one of the other places.  The good old days.

OMG...Yes, that was Sid Brody's pet store. My mom wouldn't let me have dogs or cats, so I had to settle with turtles, fish and chickens. Served her right when one of my turtles somehow crawled out of the plastic bowls they had for them with fake plastic palm trees in the middle. Found it on the floor among the pots and pans a day later! So I upgraded to chickens later on. The more I think about this with franchise places like Pet Smart and such today, I feel like I'm one foot in the grave for sure!
