How about Bucky's Tavern in Finderne. We used to stop in at night after several innings of Baseball. A few times there were Mafia type guy's coming and going. Maybe Bucky was the original Tony Saprano ??
I forgot to add that I miss all of those friends of the folks. They had personalities and nick names that you just don't come across anymore. It was so entertaining to be around all of them. God bess em all and RIP.
Had to chuckle about Bucky's. Bucky was my grandfathers 1/2 brother (same father, different mothers) I was just a kid and don't remember him well but hear plenty of interesting stories. Wish I had gotten to know that side of the family better.
What I remember most about Bucky's was that the pizza at the bar was really salty. A great way to get you to buy more beers while eating at the bar.. Have to admit it worked.. Still it was good pie. I never got a pie to go from there, (with Chitches and Chimney Rock Inn so close why go anywhere else...) but I was told it wasn't as salty ifyou got it to go...

Bucky had a lot of friends in the "mob" but he kept to himself about it. The most memorable moment was back in the late 50's when there was a driveby and someone shot the place up. His son now owns MCCarthy's which is right across the street from where Bucky's was.
I used to work for him in the kitchen and my mother was a hostess there for 14 years. If you went there, there was a good chance she showed you to your seat.
