Carmella Marie Ford, 85, died peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville with her family by her side. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Lucariello, Carmella was born in Bound Brook and resided there most of her life. A 1948 graduate of Bound Brook High School, Carmella remained very close through the years with her classmates. Carmella was a lifetime communicant of St. Joseph's Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister; member of Court Gloria # 462 Catholic Daughters, Rosary Altar Society, Merry Martha's, Former Vice- President of the St. Joseph's School PTA; Member of the Bound Brook Seniors; Past- President of "Lady Elk's" of the Bound Brook Elks Lodge # 1388. A woman of faith, Carmella was so proud of receiving the Diocesan Medal "Regina Nostra," presented by Most Reverend Paul G. Bootkoski. Carmella will be sadly missed by all who knew her and always remembered for her love of family, friends, and marriage to her beloved husband Jack of 61 years.
She is predeceased by her husband, John J. "Jack" Ford, Sr, who died on January 12, 2012; her son, David J. Ford; brother, Louis Lucariello and his wife Thelma; brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Ford; sister-in-law, Ann Lucariello. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Joseph J. Ford of Bound Brook, John J. Ford, Jr. of Manville; daughter, Mary Lynn Tolomeo and husband James of Middlesex; daughter-in-law, Valerie Ford of Bridgewater; devoted brother, Joseph J. Lucariello of South River; sister-in-law, Marilynn Fabiano of Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Estelle Ford of Diamond Bar, CA; 8 grandchildren, John J. Ford, III, Danny and his wife Heidi, Lisa and Michael Esposito, Corey, Robert, Vito and Angela Tolomeo all of Middlesex and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 8:30AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at St. Joseph's Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
