William Cherneski, 69, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. Born March 15, 1943, in South Bound Brook, he was the son of William and Caroline Stys Cherneski. He lived in Bound Brook for most of his life, moving to Bloomsbury in 2002. Bill was employed by the Bound Brook Police Department from 1969 until retiring as a Sergeant in 1994. He then worked for Bound Brook Cemetery from 1994 to the present. He was a member of Local 380, PBA, Bound Brook, and a former Communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook.
Bill was predeceased by his brother, Frank R. Cherneski, who died in 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Linda Shubick Cherneski; his children, Gina Marie (Russ) Dawson of Branchburg, Lindsay Ann Cherneski of Flemington, Kristy Lee Cherneski of Lebanon; his dear 5 month old granddaughter, Gia Grace, and his brother, David (Mavis) Cherneski of Williamston, SC.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral 9:00 A.M. Monday, December 17, from Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, at the funeral home.
