Joseph Klem, Sr., 61, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Scranton, PA, he was a long time resident of Bound Brook and graduated from Bound Brook High School. He lived in Bridgewater for 29 years before relocating to South Carolina in 2006. He was a long time employee of Mack Trucks in both Bridgewater and Allentown, and then worked as Operations Manager for Summit Bank and its many successor banks. Joe was an avid classic car and Corvette enthusiast and antique collector. He was a member of the Bound Brook Lodge #988, Loyal Order of Moose.
He is survived by his children, Jill Sylvester (husband Christopher) of Piscataway, and son, Joseph Klem, Jr. of Clarksburg, WV. Also surviving is his mother, Ann Klem and sister, Irene Beatty (husband James) all of Bound Brook and his brother, John Klem, Jr. of Claymont, DE. Mr. Klem was predeceased by his father, John Klem, Sr.
The family will receive friends at the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook on Monday, May 14 from 4 to 6 PM. Remembrances and tributes will be welcome at that time. Cremation was private.
