Thomas C. Galeta, 62, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at his home in Bound Brook. Born in Somerville, to the late Charles and Catherine (Bereza), he was a lifelong Bound Brook resident. Graduating from Bound Brook High School in 1968 and Monmouth University in 1972, he became a teacher, teaching at Tewkesbury Elementary and South Hunterdon High School, where he also coached wrestling. He was a builder and developer and was responsible for many of the townhouses in Bound Brook. He was also the owner/operator of City Lights Limousines in Middlesex. Mr. Galeta was a two term councilman in Bound Brook and served as Police Commissioner. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. He loved wrestling, was a loving father and devoted grandfather.
Mr. Galeta is survived by his wife of 39 years, Charleen (Harman); his daughter, Meredith (Frank) Amico of Short Hills; his son, Brad of Bound Brook; his granddaughters, Jayde Isabella and Dakota Catherine and his cousins, Jim Geleta and Nancy Pieretti.
Visitation will be 2- 4 and 7- 9 P.M. Thursday, February 2, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. Funeral services will begin Friday, 9:15 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Mass at St. Joseph Church. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery.
