Nearly a week after he was hospitalized after an asthma attack, Gov. Chris Christie returned to Somerset County on Wednesday to sign three bills that direct $157 million toward open-space acquisition and environmental protection across the state.
Joined by a crowd of public officials, Christie touted the state’s commitment to quality of life by protecting key regions such as the Highlands and the Barnegat Bay watershed, by developing parks and by buying land in the state’s most flood-prone areas.
