My Uncle Ernie owned this joint in the 50's and sold it somewhere in the early 60's. My Dad used to tend bar there in that time frame.. I remember going there with my Dad on a Friday night while he worked. My Aunt Amie would take me into the back room and watch me while my Dad worked. My Uncle would cash pay checks for all the regular guys that hung out there... Guess where they spent a lot of their checks??? Sly like a fox, that Uncle Ernie....

I have to say although I remember plenty of yesterdays Bound Brook I can't remember where the Annex was located. Can anyone give me more detail to exactly were it stood? Hopefully that might spring something inside of me that might help me remember it.

It was on Main St right across from the Clock at Somertset Trust. If you stepped out the front door you would just about be looking down Maiden Lane. I forget the name of the big hardware store that was next to it, but I remember when the hardware store burned down, there is a parking lot where the hardware store used to be and Kurtz newspaper store is up in the corner of that lot. There was a womans clothing store next to it on the other side.

Its ringing a bell now. I do remember that hardware store as I use to go into it as a kid and I remember the big fire that burned it down. Wasn't it called Hoagland Hardware or something of that nature?

It was in where Torpedos currently is. I think it also went by Kings Highway Inn at one time. That building also was the home of Wahls clothing store. Bought many a pair of Wrangler jeans in that place. I believe the owners still live in BB.
I know my Dad and my Uncle had the utmost respect for Iron Mike , I don't know who had that place before that , most of that crowd that hung out back then did'nt make it , what idiots , we were sooo stupid , only through the grace of God , and my wife ,! am I still here . a lot of them guys that hung out attended St. Joe's .
