Grants....


a biggie for us growing up was grants at the somevile circle....we would go very saturday......and sometimes even had lunch at the soda fountain counter...*nice memories*....

R&S AUTO STORE RIGHT IN THE SAME LINE OF STORES WITH GRANTS....

WOULD GO OVER TO CHANEL LUMBER ALSO FOR OUR HOME IMPROVEMENT STUFF

Wasn't there a Grants or Woolworth's on Main st. in downtown Somerville also back then?
Whichever store it was, I remember a soda fountain there too. I would get the grilled cheese, french fries and a soda from the fountain whenever my family would shop there

Yes, I think I do. Wasn't it at the opposite end of  the shopping center/strip mall where the A&P was. If that's the place, weren't there a number of companies in and out of that store?

Drug Fair took over when Grants left the building and now Drug Fair has also seen its better days and is gone. Haven't looked to see if another chain took over in that same building as of yet.

zach...yes, it was woolworths that was downtown somerville....
how about the surprise store at the somerville circle...(clothes store)...
it had lobel's...(baby/kids clothing store)...grand union...a & p....

i worked at grants in franklin twp,on easton ave from the time it opened to the last when it closed boy did we have some fun there. now its k mart

My bud and I used to bike to Grants cuz they had the best wiffleballs.... Of course we needed a pit stop at macdonalds for 12 or 15 cent grub!
