R&S AUTO STORE RIGHT IN THE SAME LINE OF STORES WITH GRANTS....
WOULD GO OVER TO CHANEL LUMBER ALSO FOR OUR HOME IMPROVEMENT STUFF
Wasn't there a Grants or Woolworth's on Main st. in downtown Somerville also back then? Whichever store it was, I remember a soda fountain there too. I would get the grilled cheese, french fries and a soda from the fountain whenever my family would shop there
Yes, I think I do. Wasn't it at the opposite end of the shopping center/strip mall where the A&P was. If that's the place, weren't there a number of companies in and out of that store?
Drug Fair took over when Grants left the building and now Drug Fair has also seen its better days and is gone. Haven't looked to see if another chain took over in that same building as of yet.
