I am sure there are plenty of memories of being in Study Hall at BB High. I don't remember many people actually studying when I was in there. Working almost a full time job from 4pm to 11pm plus going to BBHS until almost 3:20pm didn't give me much time to study at home or do homework. I actually had to cram my homework altogether in Study Hall. Having a nice car at the time was more important to me.
It would be nice to hear some others with stories of their BBHS Study Hall experience.

Have to agree. Never recall actually studying in study hall. Studying was for the nerdy kids! End result was the same, we all graduated with the exception of a few. For me, it was more of an adolescent ****tail hour without the ****tails. It was very very social. If you had study hall in room 300, you were able to circulate about the room and visit once roll call was taken depending upon the teacher. I usually had Mrs. McMichaels for the study hall monitor and she was kind of oblivious unless you made a lot of noise. The German teacher, Mrs. Shada was a little more stringent and ran the study hall a little tighter. There was a Mrs. Young who was so cool and she circulated about the room and actually engaged in conversations with us, visiting here and there. I think she felt that if she participated and took a genuine interest in her group, they would most likely behave. Since she was so cool about everything, there was rarely a problem in her study hall and she was respected.
Aside from the socializing, the best thing about study hall was that I had it right after lunch. Since I love food (yes, even high school cafeteria food) I'd get the hall pass and go back to lunch for another quick bite.

Joesdad, Back in the day when I went to BBHS study hall took place in the auditorium as we all sat on those hard wooden old seats that were there for decades facing the stage. Did they make a change during the 70's? Was study hall held both in room 300 and in the auditorium? Just a little curious.

Oh Yes, study hall was in a few different places. It was held in 300, the auditorium, and also in the cafeteria before and after the lunch hours. I think they even used the foods room at one point for a late afternoon one.
Study Hall in 300 ... a group of us shaking our feet on the floor and make the whole room shake...lol... and who wasn't scared to walk down that fire escape if there was a fire drill... Study hall in the auditorium... throwing pennies at the stage....
