Pellecane Liquors - - - - - Corner of Union Ave and Vosseller

Should be quite a few on this forum that remember Pellecane Liquors. I remember they had one heck of a business on the corner of Union Ave and Vosseller back in the day. That whole area where the Dunkin Donuts is today to the Pizzeria was Pellecan Liquors. I never could understand why they closed that business being it did so well. Does anyone have any idea?

Don't know why they closed up. It was a family business I know and maybe it was time to just dissolve it.

I do recall however a bottle of wild cherry brandy consumed at Codrington Park in the middle of winter.  At 15 you don't have a lot of "drinking sense". That stuff tasted like Robitussin.   The brandy on top of a dinner of rigatoni and meatballs and a walk home makes one very queesey!  Brandy was courtesy of Pellecane's!  My taste became refined by 16 and we drank Boone's Farm.  Fortunately this trait did not carry on to later life or I would be drinking Muscatell and eating from a dumpster!

Boone's Farm wine. imslow.gif How can anyone forget? I consumed a little back in the day. What was it Apple Wine or Strawberry? That I can't remember for sure. Maybe it was both. rofl.gif

Gia, I remember a gas station being there. Pretty sure a Gulf or Texaco.
