I don't know if they continued the High School dances after the mid to late 60's when I use to attend them usually on a Saturday night. That and CYO dances at St.Joes in town seemed to be the thing to do back in the day. We also had the Chatterbox in Bound Brook on Maiden Lane.

Oh yeah, I remember those dances, boys on one side of the gym, girls on the other. I had my first "real" date at one of the BBHS dances; it was a disaster. Why would I go to a dance on my first date when I didn't know how to dance? Anyway, the night ended on a good note, went to Chitches after the dance, good food, talked, laughed, had a good time, even got a quick good night kiss to end the evening; thank goodness for Chitches
Zach, I think you are forgetting. The only time I remember the girls being on one side of the Gym and the boys on the other side is when there was dancing classes being held during Gym class on a regular school day. Remember the Square dancing? Pick your partner (Doe see Doe).
The High School dances always had a live Rock Band. I know I played at quite a few of them back in the day.

LOL! I hated the square dances and did everything I could to get out of them. I succeeded beyond my wildest dreams too!
