Bound Brook native, Dick Lynch, passed away yesterday at age 72. Played for the NY Giants for a number of years. Also, played for Notre Dame and scored the winning touchdown against Oklahoma to snap their 47 game winning streak. I met him one time at Efinger's, when it was on Main St
I met Mr. Lynch while in grammar school back during the 50's while he was still playing for the Giants. His sister was in my class and as a surprise he paid us a visit. I am very sorry to hear that he passed away. Spoke to his sister about a month ago and she did mention that he was ill. For those who didn't know he was an anouncer for the Giants up until recently from what I understand. His sister told me he was looking to go back to work once he felt better.
