Hubers Sunoco Station

Anyone remember Max Hubers Sunoco Service Station on Union Ave. He was a friend of my Dad's who was also a Sunoco Dealer in Piscataway. His Nephew Gene took it over in the 70's til it closed as a Service Station.

My Dads Station was near #287 next to River Road Tavern.

Dixie,
Give people a hint here to where this particular Sunoco station in Bound Brook was located on Rt. 28 that you are talking about. Don't forget there were two Sunoco's on Rt 28 in Bound Brook. One was located next to the Dairy Queen close to Tea Street and the other a few blocks East past Vosseller Ave just past the corner of Washington Street on the left. I an pretty sure there is still a Auto Repair Shop in the building. I am going to bet this is the Sunoco you are talking about since I knew you had and ran the other Sunoco at one time next to the Dairy Queen before Scotty took it over in the late 60's. For those not in the know Scotty ran that old station with Walter Fox through the 70's until Fox left the partership to run the newly built Chevron Gas Station over in South Bound Brook.  Don't know if you know it or not but your old station is once again a Sunoco like it was for years after wearing a few other badges over the years. biggrin

Stone  Thanks for the update on my old station next to the Dairy Queen. Max Hubers was the one east of Vossler. I think there was a liquor store across the street and the old Apgar Trucking.I knew Walter Fox he was also a mechanic for Royal Chevrolet. He worked with Scotty who used to work for H&H Chrysler across from Chitchs.
