How many of you remember the 2 Very Large Billboards that were located at the corner of Talmadge Ave. and Van Keuren Ave.? The location was in the former Roosevelt Parking Lot facing Talmadge Ave. I remember as a kid climbing up in the back of those billboards. I am sure many a kid back in the day made the climb. That whole lot was pretty much bare with just wild growth. I do remember a Apple Tree in that lot that we tried to knock apples out of to eat while they were green. Pretty sure there was a Cherry Tree there also if I am not mistaken. If you went over to Dansaks for a Ice Cream you couldn't of missed those billboards.

You know Jo I have to find out a little more about that field as I aways remembered it. I wonder if anything was ever built on it before the Billboards? Something in the back of my mind tells me that apartments were there at one time. I could be mistaken. I am going to have to ask someone older then myself who lived in town back then.I just remember those 2 large Billboards facing Talmadge Avenue. It seems kinda weird to think about it nowadays. Usually you don't see large Billboards of that size that were used facing Talmadge except maybe up on Rt.22 or other major hyways. Think about it. Actually think of the lot right now as it is paved for parking. That frontal area facing Talmadge was consumed by the 2 Billboards that I remember being there.

Speaking of billboards, who remembers the Golden Geurnsey Cows on 22 Between Vosseller and Thompson Ave.s You could see them heading east from Thompson on 22. They were there for years. All the cows heads!!
