Apgar Bros. Trucking

Just wondering how many of you remember the Apgar Trucking Company located up on Union Avenue where Somerset Savings Bank sits now from back in the day?

Hello welcome to the STS BBNJ Forum and the (Yesterdays Bound Brook As You Remember It) section of the forum. There are right now 105 members here on this forum. Most  of the members here were part of the original  forum that spoke about Yesterdays Bound Brook from the forums beginning in 2008. You are welcome to mention your friend Russ's last name as someone here may remember him or know where he is located now.   Stop in once in a while as someone may have a answer for you. In the mean time check out the rest of the Yesterdays Bound Brook section. I think you will like what you see. We have over 5 pages of different memory threads of BB establishments in this section that may interest you from years gone by. Feel free to add any other info you may want to share with us here on the forum.

I remember Apgar Trucking, Green and yellow Mack trucks.. I went to school with Susan Apgar. MY Aunt lived on Maple Ave. I remember being at her house and hearing what I think was air starters on the trucks, they would make a loud whistle type noise. Then through my high school years,we used to hang out at Crusaders and play touch football in Apgars parking lot of white stones..

My grandfather and his brother and sister were partners in the trucking business. My father was never involved, but I remember always getting a kick out of seeing an Apgar Brothers truck on the PA Turnpike or somewhere far from BB after getting married and moving away. ~Sue Apgar

Hi, my name is Tracy and my Dad worked for Apgar, I was wondering if you might remember him:  John Mitch Herndon. He was killed on the job and I was trying to learn more about him through people that may have known him considering I was very young when he was killed.  Any information would be helpful. TYIA

Sincerely,

Tracy
