Heres 2 memorable business establishments one still around that moved........
Pinto's was on the corner of Fisher Ave and Talmadge and before they moved up 28 in Finderne Elliots was on 28 across the street from Quik Chek. They use to deliver the cases of soda with the return policy and some of us use to get a bi-weekly delivery of the soda right to the house sort of like the milkman of soda. Don't know if they still do that yet though
Gia If I remember right wasen't Elliott's in the Old Bound Brook Ford Body Shop Building before Heavens took it over ? I remember the Delivery Service. We used to order a Variety especially Cream Soda.
I remember both Elliot Beverages and Pinto's Liquors well. I never delt with either in my younger years though. Elliot in their newer location further up Rt.28 in Bridgewater right over the BB line I am pretty sure is just a drive through today.I have been through there on occasion over the years picking up. I doubt if they deliver soda anymore. Cost wise with the price of gas and to have a person go out to deliver would be prohibitive today I would think.
When I was younger my family would use Fraschella's Liquors on John Street for our delivery of a case of soda and beer. I remember Mr. Di Giampaolo doing the deliveries back during the 50's and 60's until he passed away at a young age. I knew his son Tom and also went to school with him while growing up in Bound Brook. He lived in the old Frashella building on Main Street that burned down many years ago before the new building was rebuilt.
