They are still doing it to this day from what I understand. Haven't been to one in a very long time. My father is still a member although I never had a interest in joining.

The Elks club was always a mystery to me. I had never even set foot in the building until I attended my 25th High School reunion there. A lot of people in my neighborhood belonged to the ElKS and I always heard talk of the dances and dinners but never attended any. Of course there was the annual convention in Atlantic City and half the town was empty during this time because everyone went!
