I can't forget Vinny's Shoemaker Shop on Main Street in Bound Brook as a kid. This shop was right across the street from Rick's Cycle Center. The shop was owned by Vincent Capalbo a very nice elderly gentlemen. Back in the day when cleats were in to put on the bottem of your heal Vinny's was the place to get them. I use to stop in to say hello walking to and from grammer school and my family used this shop for any work needed on our shoes back in the day.
Many years later after Vince had past away I got to know his son and grandchildren real well and had told them of the many times I stopped into the Shoe Repair owned by their father and grandfather years ago.

Yea remember when you could get soles & heels replaced for a couple of bucks. I stopped in a shoe repair shop here in Virginia a couple of months ago and they wanted $50 for soles & heels on my penny loafers. Oh how times have changed. Dixie
Dixie, Actually Vinces grand son Vinny owned and operated the Auto Repair on Talmadge Ave up until a year or so ago. Vinny still owns the building but W&W took over the Auto Repair Business.
