First Friday

Anyone remember First Fridays @ St. Josephs ? After Mass we had Hot Cocoa and Coconut topped pasteries served by Mrs. Nichols in the Kindergarden building behind the school.  YUM YUM !! I have never found those pasteries since.  Dixie

Yep, I remember. The Hot Cocoa and Coconut topped pasteries were the only reason I went to Mass

Have you ever found those type pasteries since then ? I haven't. Best part for me was that Mrs. Nichols son Jimmy and me were friends and his Mom would have us come around the back door for "Seconds" I believe Jimmy was KIA in VietNam. Good People.

Gaston Ave Bakery was close but not exactly like them
I think the ones we received after Mass had a little Devine Intervention apply to them

There was nothing like those pastries they served. I remember Coconut, Cinnamon and a little lemon filling and they were long like a Hot Dog Roll. Making you guys hungry??? Hey if you ever find them anywhere let me know. I will drive up to a 100 miles for them. Dixie will drive up to 500 miles if I know him well enough. chew.gifhungry.gif
