Natalizio salvage yard

Donato had the "In Town " Salvage yard. If he liked you then you could make a bargain if not WATCH OUT. I made many a good deal with Danny.

Dixie, I'm trying to visualize Danny and what I get is a guy who always looked like he was in need of a shower and shave and he always had a stogie stuck in his mouth, sometimes lit, sometimes not. And didn't he have a funny looking eye? Couldn't tell if he was looking at you or the guy next to you

Thats exactly how I remember him but he wasn't a bad guy you just had to know him. I have a funny story to tell here. Actually I am pretty sure Dixie Dude mentioned this to me one time as he witnessed it. You see Danny wasn't the type of guy that you wanted to cross. If he made a deal with you that was the deal. Anyway here it goes. Someone calls Danny on the phone asking him if he had a windshield for a certain car. Danny tells him yes he does and it will cost him $100. The fellow comes down to Natalizio's for the windshield, sees it and now only offers Danny $50.00 for it. Danny goes and grabs a sledge hammer and smashes the windshield right in front of this customer with the customer wondering what the heck is this guy doing. Danny tells him straight up this is what you get for $50. Now get the F@@K out of my place. biggrin eyepopping.gif

Great story! I can definately see Danny Nat doing that. His son Cosmo was always working hard at the yard for his dad. Also his daughter, forgot her name that used to work at Somerset farms on Union Ave, it was hard to believe that she was related to Nat. She was easy on the eyes.

Dannys favorite line was "over there in the pile". I remember them all looking very dirty all the time.

Whenever I drive by there I still see the junkyard..........ashamed

Think about it. Where is there a junkyard where people are walking around like Mr.Clean? Really didn't mean anything that it was on the Main Street. It was still a junk yard. You couldn't of expected anything more could you? One thing I know. Danny Nat was laughing all the way to the bank.

I hate to say it but I would rather have Danny Nats junkyard downtown once again with Karpy's across the street and have the rest of the town as it once was back in the day then have it be a Little Mexico down there like it is today with Illegals everywhere. How about you?
