I am sure many people remember Otto and Joe Williams Harley Davidson and Schwinn Bicycle Dealership. My grandfather bought me my first 3 speed Schwinn bike from them during the later 50's. Otto passed on years ago but I still see Joe on Occasion.
The Dealership was sold and eventually moved up to Lebanon after burning to the ground after being hit with Bound Brook's biggest Flood to date in 1999 brought on by Hurricane Floyd.

Who could forget ! Otto had a terrific bark but he was a great guy. Used to spend a lot of time drooling over bicycle before graduating to cars. Was lucky enough to have had a few new ones out of there. Mostly bought for me by my very special Uncle. Rolling Stone will know who I mean!!
When I went to St. Joes we used to walk over to Otto's after school. My brother bought his first Sportster there. My Uncle "Lindy Mike" purchased a New Harley every other year from Otto. He never owned a car and worked in Rubberoid in South Bound Brook.
Joe and Otto were my favorite. I remember getting rides from Joe on the side car of his motorcycle. They were always clowning around with me -- from a small girl to an adult. I will never ever forget Otto and Joe.
Joe and Otto lived two doors down from my house when I was growing up. I remember them coming home on their motorcycles after the shop closed and Joe would always give me a wave and a smile. Of course I got my first Schwinn bicycle from that shop, as probably a lot of kids in BB. When I'm in BB visiting my family, I still get to see Joe coming home from work. It's a memory I'll never forget.
My mom, who lives now in the same house she grew up remembers Joe when he was a youngster. He too lives in the same house he grew up in. She remembers him riding his tricycle up and down the street in front of her house.
i was at that place just about everyday one day i bought one of them 10cent pepsi,s when i drank it ,it tasted terrible only to find out it had a rusted piece of metal in it , joe told me to tell the pepsi guy about it when he came in to refill the machine ,when he came in i told him , he told me; that and 10cents would get me another pepsi. but joe is one of the most strait up guys i have ever knowed ,what a mechanic , and otto was the best he loved smoking them camels.when pluhars tavern closed joe pluhar sold the building to joe , it was really hart breaking to see those buildings burn down.
